The Role: Reporting to the Operations Trainer and the assigned Department Head, the Assistant Department Head Trainee (ADHT) will undergo an intensive training program of approximately 13 weeks for the purpose of familiarizing with the operation know-how, department daily routines, management development techniques, and learn how to run a department with profit and loss accountabilities.
Upon satisfactory completion of the ADHT Program, the trainees will then assume ADH responsibilities of the assigned department based on their assessment results and will be responsible to deliver ADH duties and responsibilities and to provide support to the assigned Department Heads and Store Managers.
Major Responsibilities: Maximize customers’ satisfaction, build rapport with our customers by providing good smile, eye contact and attention to them;
provide excellent customer service Learn and subsequently assist the Department Head to manage the assigned department performance and attain its goals Learn and subsequently assist the Department Head to manage merchandises, place orders, plan and execute promotional activities to achieve department goal Learn and subsequently assist the Department Head to manage and supervise assigned department daily operation and staff performance Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, guidance and supervision to department staff Collect and analyze market information, and design response measure Oversee product quality, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department Promote teamwork and create an inclusive working environment Maximize customers’ satisfaction, build rapport with our customers by providing good smile, eye contact and attention to them;
handle customers’ complaints, if any Conduct quality control during receiving;
manage inventory in both the display and walk-in coolers, if applicable Lead by example by performing all hands on duties required in the assigned department Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior(s)

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Preferred to have at least 2 years of supermarket or related operating experience Possess a keen interest in the supermarket business Preferred to have completion of post-secondary or above education Accountable, pleasant and flexible, always take initiative with great leadership skills Possess great interpersonal and customer service skills Good communication skills.
Proficiency in English is required, knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is considered an asset.
Possess good computer skills in MS Office Good organization, and problem-solving skills Able to work independently and within a team Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays Ability to work at different store locations as assigned
